Michael Arrington's Wineglass Pareidolia



I saw this image today at Techcrunch, posted by Michael Arrington. If you're familiar with my avatar image, you'll understand why I like this picture so much. Speaking of pareidolia, I was talking to @artgrrl earlier today about this, having discovered a new post at her blog on it. 

Pareidolia is the tendency to interpret a coincidental visual stimulus as something already known to the viewer. Its a pervasive phenomenon accounting for many of the shapes, forms and experiences in visual culture. I am tempted to use this design as an avatar...
